Carl Hankins, 61, of Laurel passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 at his residence in Laurel. He was born Friday, Dec. 22, 1961, in Laurel.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov.17, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Brother Derek Fretwell will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.

Carl enjoyed spending time with his wife, as well as his lifelong friends, cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels and being called PawPaw.

He was preceded in death by his father W. C. Hankins Sr.; mother Willa Jean Lewis Hankins; and nephew Rustin Sims.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl Fretwell Hankins; sons Jarrod Hankins (Cassidi) and Kenneth Brock Rainer (Lakyn); daughter Ashley Dudley; grandchildren Collin Hankins, Brenton Hankins, Brayden Dudley, Harper Rainer, Chief Rainer and Henley Rainer; sister Tina Hession (Stoney); niece Candace Madamba (Jared); and aunt Faye Johnson.
